Is This Community For You?

Rooted Again London is specifically for women who have relocated to West London and are rebuilding community after a major life transition.

You're in the right place if:

  • You've relocated to London (from another country OR from within the UK)

  • You live in or near West London (Ealing, Chiswick, Acton, Hammersmith, Fulham, Kensington, etc.)

  • You're looking for genuine connection, not networking or business promotion

  • You're ready to engage authentically and support other relocated women

This might not be the right fit if:

  • You're looking for business networking or client leads

  • You're based outside West London with no plans to attend in-person meetups

  • You're looking for a general London social group (not relocation-focused)

  • You haven't yet relocated to London (come back when you're here!)

Community Guidelines

We're building a warm, supportive community. A few simple agreements:

  • Be genuine - share authentically, support generously

  • Respect privacy - what's shared in the group stays in the group

  • No business promotion - this isn't for marketing services or recruiting clients

  • Engage positively - disagree respectfully, assume good intent

  • Show up - if you RSVP to meetups, please attend or cancel in advance

  • Use you real name - We’re a personal community, not an anonymous forum

Step 1: Request to Join

Click the button below to request access to our WhatsApp community. You'll request to join and Marilyn (community founder) will approve your request, typically within 24 hours.

Step 2: Introduce Yourself in General Chat

Once approved, please post a brief introduction:

  • Your name

  • Where you relocated from and when

  • What area of West London you're in

  • One thing you're hoping to find in this community

This helps everyone get to know you and keeps our community personal (not anonymous).

Step 3: Join the Sub-Groups That Interest You

Rooted Again has several sub-groups for different interests and needs. Join whichever resonate with you!

Once you're in the General chat, you can join any or all of these sub-groups based on your interests. You're not required to join any—only the ones that resonate with you.

Sports & Active Living For members who want to stay active and explore movement together across West London. Walking, running, cycling, swimming, pilates, yoga, climbing, tennis, pickleball — anything that gets you outside or into a studio. Use this group to organise activities, find a workout buddy, share class recommendations, or swap notes on what's worth trying. All fitness levels and all activities welcome.

Hormones, Brain & Body For members navigating the intersection of hormonal changes, brain health, and how our bodies shift through different life stages — and what it means to navigate all of that in a healthcare system that's new to many of us. Perimenopause, menopause, ADHD, neurodivergence, brain fog, mood, energy, sleep. Share what's helped, what hasn't, practitioners worth knowing, and resources worth reading. All stages and starting points welcome.

Mental Health Practitioners
For those working in mental health or adjacent fields - discuss research, share opportunities, connect professionally.

Parenting After Relocation
For navigating the particular challenges of raising children after relocating to London. School systems, cultural differences, rebuilding family community, coordinating playdates, and everything that comes with parenting far from your support network. Share what's working, what isn't, and find others in the same stage.

Empty Nesters & Older Kids
For women whose children are grown or growing up — navigating the empty nest, teenagers finding their independence, or simply a life stage where parenting looks different than it used to. For connection, solidarity, and figuring out what comes next.
